An Inconvenient Blonde Moment

Oh dear, I seem to have had one again! A blonde moment is normally some minor little thing, like understanding a joke last out of everyone, or forgetting to grab something from the grocery store that was the one thing you had to get. Well, Saturday I had a BIG blonde moment. It all started with a test, the Praxis 2-Social Studies edition. I woke up bright and early, had my “brain food” breakfast, and was out the door. Justin, my sweet fiancĂ©, knew how anxious I was about my test so he drove me to my test site. We even got there 30 minutes early! I am NEVER early, so that was exciting! I sat in the car listening to music and talking about my test with Justin for about 10 minutes. I then was dropped off at the front of the test site with the promise he’d return when it was over. I didn’t want him to have to wait so I sent him to the mall/bookstore. I walked up the steps with all my materials, several minutes early amazed at the scarcity of cars in the parking lot, that’s when it hit me! I looked down at my ticket and sure enough I had mistakenly asked to be dropped at the wrong test site. One of the biggest tests in my life and I went to the wrong test site! I quickly called Justin to get him to come get me and within a minute or so he was able to get back to me. Thank God for no/low traffic because I was at my test center with 5 minutes to spare on my report time, AND they didn’t even check us in for another 5 minutes after that! After my test I was pretty drained from all the stress, and I was a little down because if I pass it will only be by a little, and if I don’t then that would only be by a little…so I have no idea where I stand! Anyway, after I got in the car I had a big hug and Justin said he was taking me to lunch…and then he surprised me with a bag. He said he knew how stressed and upset I had been and he wanted to make me smile with something that shined like me!

That’s when I opened it and saw the most gorgeous gold bangles ever! I love them! I’ve worn them almost every day since then, and get so many compliments on them. The gold bangles aren’t my bluebird of the day… My super sweet future husband was and will always be my bluebird...He just stuck out with the shiny bracelets!

Welcome!

Welcome to Lindsey Shea's bluebird!
I'm so excited to be blogging, and even more excited that you care to read it! First off, I suppose I should introduce myself! My name is Lindsey Shea, and I decided to start blogging because...well...because I think it'll be fun to write about my thoughts, feelings, and experiences. From time to time I may throw in a dash of my opinion, but that's just to add some flavor!
I'll post more about myself later when I'm feeling a little more narcissistic, but for now I suppose I should explain why I named my blog the way I did. The reason really is simple and, of course, involves a story. When I was younger my grandmother (I called her Memaw) had two glass bluebirds. I LOVED these birds, and was graciously allowed to play with them when I came to visit. My cousin and I used to claim a bird when we arrived and not return it until the time we left. When I was 7 my "Memaw" went to heaven, and the only thing that I wanted from her house was my bluebird. My favorite was the bird with a chipped beak. This accident happened when I tried to make the birds kiss. I'm not quite sure what ever happened to the other bird, but I have it's priceless counterpart, and it's truly one of my greatest treasures. I guess the reason I named my blog bluebird was because I want it to remind me, and hopefully you to find at least one thing everyday that is priceless. Which brings me to ask, What was your bluebird of the day?
